The name « Bilkent » is the incarnation of this goal since it comes from the short form of « bilim kenti » that means « city of learning and science » in Turkish.

5. Hacettepe University :
Hacettepe was built in 1957 at the same time as the children’s medical institue and Hacettepe hospital whose training, teaching, research and service activities have debuted in 1958.
Hacettepe University pursues activities through 15 faculties, a higher education center, two schools, a conservatory, 4 vocational schools, 98 research and application center according to law number 2809 concerning the organization of higher educational establishments, that appeared in 1982.
