Getting accepted in Turkish universities for Moroccan students relies on three factors:
-
Passing the YOS exam:
The Öğrenci Uyruklu Yabancı exam for foreign students, also known as YÖS is one of the most important tests that Moroccan students base their access to Turkish universities on.
This exam is similar to intelligence tests, and it can be considered a high school final exam for university entry.
The student is to present himself at the YÖS exam which organized by the university he wishes to enter. The exam takes place in the months of March or April in Turkey.
Generally, foreign students are required to travel to Turkey in order to pass the exam either at the university or in one of the centers located all over the country. Nonetheless, Moroccan students have the possibility to contact Tawjeeh center which provides them with the exact location of the exam.
All students who have the baccalaureate diploma can choose this option no matter the mentions obtained in their grades report.
2. From the high school certificate directly:
Some universities accept the baccalaureate diploma and organize themselves the YÖS exam. In this case, it’s the university that gives the equivalent of every certificate which enables converting the grade received in the high school certificate to its equivalent average on the YÖS exam.
3. The SAT exam :
The SAT is short for Scholastic Assessment Test which is an international university entry exam, created by a non-profit American establishment called College Board.
This exam tests high school students’ capacity to access university level, doing so by supplying unified data to different universities and colleges in order to easily sort candidates.
