There are more than 200 universities in Turkey, and most of them are relatively new. Recently in 1970, there were only eight public universities as the first private university was only founded in 1984 (Bilkent University).

Every public and private university in Turkey signed the Poland agreement that unifies study programs of all of Europe, and many Turkish universities participate in the Erasmus program for international students.

1- Çankaya University:

Çankaya University possesses 5 faculties and 23 campuses, two centers, and 28 master’s programs and 10 Ph.D. programs, two training schools with 3 study courses, a preparatory school for the English language.

Students who have been determined non-competent in the English language are to do one year in preparatory school to learn it.

The name « Bilkent » is the incarnation of this goal since it comes from the short form of « Bilim kenti » which means « city of learning and science » in Turkish.

5- Hacettepe University : 

Hacettepe was built in 1957 at the same time as the children’s medical institute and Hacettepe hospital whose training, teaching, research, and service activities have debuted in 1958.

Hacettepe University pursues activities through 15 faculties, a higher education center, two schools, a conservatory, 4 vocational schools, 98 research, and an application center according to law number 2809 concerning the organization of higher educational establishments, which appeared in 1982.
